No Resolution

Before Hummer there was S.F.R, formed in mid-2004 by Will & Joe and theystarted gigging in late 2005. The EP was recorded May 30th/31st 2007 at Tuffgong Studios in Warrington, when the band members were all only 16/17.
Mainly influenced by Rancid, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag and old Green Day at the time, but with a bit of Dropkick Murphy’s thrown in on occasion (the song “Johnny had a girlfriend” was particularly celtic-sounding, and featured Matty from Roughneck Riot on mandolin and guest vocals).

When the original drummer decided to leave the band in October 2007, S.F.R continued for a while with a new drummer, and Cainy joined the band in early 2008 as a 2nd guitarist. However the new lineup would eventually replace most of the old songs and start to move their sound towards something a bit less caustic and more melodic (also changing their name to Hummer around the same time). 7 years and various gigs, chops, changes and time spent playing in other bands (most notably Flat Back Four), would eventually see Will/Joe/Cainy return to gigging (under the name Hummer) in late 2015 – same name and members but new songs and an updated sound, so not really considered to be the same band.
That being said there is still a faint trace of S.F.R left even today, as Hummer recorded their old song, “Stand Down”, for the “Work.Home.Bed” EP released in 2016 (10 years after the song was written)
